Gustainis Liudas

Liudas Gustainis – poet, prose writer.
He was born 14 July, 1944 in Mažeikiai.
In 1962 he finished his studies at Mažeikiai Secondary school, then he studied at Kaunas Polytechnic Institute for half of the year and then at driver school. In 1962 he worked at Kaunas Radio Plant and in 1963 he worked at Vilnius Ambulance Station. In 1963 he started his studies of English language and literature at Vilnius University but was called to do his military service until 1966. He continued his studies after the army and from 4th course he studied at Ryga University which he finished in 1974. He worked as an English teacher at Vilkaviškis school in 1969. From 1973 till 1983 he worked at Kaunas M.K. Čiurlionis Art Museum.
A member of Lithuanian Writers’ Union since 1999.
