Zingeris Markas
Markas Zingeris – poet, prose writer, playwright, translator.
He was born 2 January, 1947 in Prienai.
In 1971 he finished his studies of journalism at Vilnius University. In 1971-1977 he gave lectures at Kaunas Higher schools. After he refused to join the Communist Party he was fired and excluded from his studies of philosophy. He worked at Kaunas Museum, at Academy of Agriculture and other places. He is the manager of The Vilna Gaon Jewish State Museum since 2005.
A member of Lithuanian Writers’ Union since 1990.
