Jurgelevičienė Marija

Marija Jurgelevičienė (pseudonym: Mari Poisson) – prose writer, poetess, essayist.
She was born 22 September, 1948 in Dirgėlai, Šilalė district.
In 1966 she finished Kaltinėnai Secondary school and in 1972 she graduated from the Faculty of Klaipėda of Šiauliai Pedagogical Institute. From 1973 she worked as a teacher at Šiauliai 9th Secondary school, at Secondary school for the Blind, 3rd Secondary Evening school, at Šilėnai 8-years school and again at Secondary school for the Blind. In 1980 she worked as a senior librarian at Povilas Vileišis library in Šiauliai. From 1989 till 1991 she worked at Secondary school for the Blind and in 1991-1992 she worked as an editor of weekly newspaper “Vairas”. She worked as an assistant at Šiauliai Pedagogical Institute (1991-1999) and Šiauliai University (from 1996). Now she is a freelance artist. From 2006 she lives in London.
A member of Lithuanian Writers’ Union since 1999.
