Juozaitis Arvydas
Arvydas Juozaitis – prose writer, playwright.
He was born 18 April, 1956 in Vilnus.
In 1980 he graduated from Vilnius University and acquired a specialty of an economist. In 1986 he got his Doctoral degree. From 1985 till 1987 he gave lectures at Lithuanian Conservatoire. During the years of 1987-2001 he worked at Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences. In 1998-2004 he gave lectures at the International Business school of Vilnius University. In 2001-2003 he worked as a political adviser of a prime minister at the Government of the Republic of Lithuania. From 2004 till 2009 he worked as Cultural Attaché at Consulate General of the Republic of Lithuania in Kaliningrad district. In 2009-2012 he lived in Ryga. From 2012 he worked as vice-president of National Olympic Committee of Lithuania. In 1976 he won a Bronze medal in Olimpics. In 1988 he was one of the founders of Reform Movement of Lithuania. From 1994 till 2000 he was a board chairman of the Lithuanian Concordia Fund. He worked at various editorial offices: as a publisher and editor of “Sąjūdžio žinios” (in 1988), one of the founders, a publisher and editor of weekly newspaper “Šiaurės Atėnai” (in 1990), an editor in chief of magazine “Naujoji Romuva” (1995-2000), as a member of editorial board of magazines “Baltika” and “Paralelės”.
A member of Lithuanian Writers’ Union since 2003.
