Ivaškevičius Marius
Marius Ivaškevičius – prose writer, playwright.
He was born 26 March, 1973 in Molėtai.
From 1991 till 1997 he studied Lithuanian language and literature at Vilnius University. During the years of 1996-1999 he worked at daily newspaper “Respublika” as a reporter for Saturday supplement “Julius” and was an editor of it from 1999 till 2000. In 2000-2001 he cooperated in cultural broadcasts of the Lithuanian Television. He collaborates with the biggest daily newspaper in Poland “Gazeta Wyborcza”, where he writes essays. In 1998 he debuted as a playwright. He directs films and writes scripts. His works have been translated into Polish, German, Slovenian, French, Russian, Belorussian, Italian, English and other languages.
A member of Lithuanian Writers’ Union since 1998.
