Vladas Braziūnas – poet, essayist, translator.
He was born 17 February, 1952 in Pasvalys.
From 1962 till 1972 he studied journalism at Vilnius University. In 1997 he finished studies of Lithuanian language and literature at Vilnius University. He worked at editorial offices of “Literatūra ir menas”, “Gimntasis kraštas”, “Lietuvos rytas”. Since 1996 he concentrated on creative work. A member of Ukrainian Association Lithuanian section since it was found in 1992. A member of Lithuanian PEN center since 2002 and a member of Lithuanian Translators’ Union since 2004. A member and one of the founders of Middle European poet movement “Cap à l’Est”. One of the founders and members of Lithuanian and Latvian Forum, a member of Fellowship of Lithuanian language, a member of Association LATGA Ethics board since 2012. One of the founders of international “Magnus Ducatus Poesis” (magnusducatuspoesis.lt). His work has been published in cultural press, almanacs, anthologies, etc. His poetry has been translated into Albanian, Armenian, English, Belorussian, Bosnian, Bulgarian, Georgian, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Macedonian, French, Russian, Ukrainian, German and other languages.
