Jūratė Baranova (former Patkauskaitė, since 14 November, 2009 – Rubavičienė, literary pseudonym – Ana Audicka) – essayist, literary critic.
She was born 15 December, 1955 in Biržai.
She finished 31st Vilnius secondary school. From 1972 till 1978 she studied psychology and philosophy at Vilnius University. She is a Doctor of Arts, in 1986 she defended her Ph.D. theses “Pragmatist’s Conception of Truth of William James”. During 1980–1984 she was working in Vilnius University History of Philosophy department. In 1984 she started working at Vilnius Pedagogical university. From 1984 till 1988 she was an assistant at Department of Politics and from 1988 till 1990 an assistant at Department of Politics. From 1990 till 2003 Docent of Philosophy Department, since 2003 a Professor of Philosophy Department. She teaches philosophy of ethics, philosophical anthropology, postmodern philosophy. She is an author of various handbooks. She has published critical articles, essays in various periodicals: “Kultūros barai”, “Metai”, “Literatūra ir menas”, “Šiaurės Atėnai”, “Nemunas”. She is a member of editorial boards for magazines “Problemos”, “Istorija”, “Athena”. She is a Chairman at Ministry of Education and Science Social and Ethical Upbringing Committee. Her essays and articles are translated into English, French, Swedish and Esperanto languages.
A member of Lithuanian Writers’ Union since 2014.
