Renata Šerelytė – prose writer, poetess, playwright, literary critic.
She was born 11 May, 1970 in Šimonys, Kupiškis district.
In 1988 she finished Šimonys Secondary school and for one year worked at a school library. In 1994 she finished studies of the Lithuanian language and literature at Vilnius University. She worked at magazine for children “Žvaigždutė”, at cultural weekly “7 meno dienos”, at magazine “Jaunimo gretos”. Her debut was in magazine “Moksleivis” where she published her poems. Her short stories are translated into English, French, Swedish, Russian, Georgian, Polish and other languages and also included in modern anthologies. In 2013 based on her book a movie “Vardas tamsoje” was filmed. She lives in Vilnius.
A member of Lithuanian Writers' Union since 1996.
