Stepšys Juozas

Juozas Stepšys – literary critic.
He was born 2 August, 1936 in Pusdešriai, Šakiai district.
In 1959 he finished his studies of Lithuanian language and literature at Vilnius University and gave lectres there till 1964. In 1964-1970 he was working at the Central Committee of the Lithuanian Communist Party. From 1973 till 1976 he worked at the Institute of Lithuanian Language and Literature. During the years of 1976-1984 he worked at publishing house “Vaga” as a manager of editorial office of original literature and from 1984 till 1989 he worked as an editor in chief. From 1993 he publishes books and edits “Lietuvos profsąjungos” newspaper.
A member of Lithuanian Writers' Union since 1987.
