Panavas Petras

Petras Panavas – poet, prose writer, playwright.
He was born 6 September, 1933 in Vingriai, Ignalina district.
He finished Ignalina Secondary school, then worked at Culture House and did his military service. In 1964 he finished his extramural studies at Vilnius University, Faculty of History and Philology. He gave lectures on Lithuanian language and literature and history at Cirkliškis Agricultural Technikum in Švenčionys district. In 1972 he moved to Utena and worked as a teacher. His works have been included into almanacks “Poezijos pavasaris”, “Verdenė”, “Birželio sodai”, “Žiemos žodžiai” as well as various collections of poetry.
A member of Lithuanian Writers’ Union since 1979.
