Stasys Jonauskas – poet.
He was born 28 March, 1948 in Gėsalai, Skuodas district.
In 1964 he finished Gėsalai 8 class school. In 1965 he finished Skuodas Secondary school (extramural studies). In 1970 he graduated from the Faculty of Agronomics at Lithuanian Academy of Agriculture. In 1981 he finished his high courses of literature at M. Gorki Institute of Literature in Moscow. He worked at the collective farm as a field worker, a technician of artificial insemination of cows and a head of a farm. From 1967 till 1979 and later from 1981 he worked at editorial office of Skuodas newspaper “Mūsų žodis”: at first he worked ass a head of Agricultural department, then since 1993 as a deputy of editor in chief and since 2004 – as an editor. His poetry has been published in literary press, poetry collections, almanacks “Poezijos pavasaris”, “Baltija”, “Taikos balandžiai” and others.
A member of Lithuanian Writers’ Union since 1978.
